Every summer during vacation, we take the kids
down to Fillmore Glen to walk the falls. The park was
allowing people in free because the high for the day was
supposed to hit 98 degrees. The park has swimming and
picnicing areas and is a nice place to camp, also.
The first leg of the trip was climbing up these stairs.
Miles is giving Connor a ride up so he wouldn't lag behind.

At the top on the stairs we walk to this area where
the kids can walk up the river.

The kids taking a break. Mile's friend Andrew on the left.

Half way up (1 mile trail) are these steps. Julie,
Joe and Celeste bringing up the rear. We now are
close to where the kids can get under the waterfall.

Lots of rain this summer made the falls a fun place to play.

Going under the cold water of the falls was delightful
this very hot day. It was hard to pull the kids away
to continue to the top.

We needed a break, too.

The kids had to cross this huge tree in the middle
of the river.

At the top is a gorge and we carefully climbed down the
wet slippery rocks to get there. It was worth it!

The walk back down was fun and easy.

Julie taking a rest on the trail down. The gorge here
is very deep.

Every summer we look forward to the day we can get
together to come to Fillmore Glen. When we got back
to the lake (10 min. away) it was a nice hot day for
the kids to tube, ski, waverun and play volleyball.
What a great day!
