Trip to Utah in October.
My good friend Deann Mayo was driving her
daughter, Katie, out to the Missionary Training
Center in Provo, Utah and invited me to tag
along. I spent a couple of nights bunking with Cami
in her dorm at BYU and experienced her life
away from home! Now when I talk to her I can
picture her with her friends on campus.

Ricki and Cami have fun singing together.

The Provo Temple at daybreak. I walked a couple
of mornings up by the temple and into the benches
where I could look out over Utah Lake and Provo Valley.

My friend Mynon Deru drove down from Morgan
Friday morning. We did some shopping, had shakes
at the IceBerg and then went to dinner with Shunae
and Travis. Here they are in their cute little apt.

Marc arrived Friday night and Saturday morning
we met Cami to walk around Campus. Marc got a ticket
to the Homecoming Football Game while Cami and
shopped for much needed items for her room. We
went to the Women's Volleyball game Sat. night and
watched them win in 3 games. Fun!
After the homecoming game it is a tradition for some to hike up to the Y on the mountain. It is lit up every night so you can see where BYU is.
Leslie, Mandy and Cami in front of Deseret Towers after walking home from church.
Look closely at the name tag Marc made to wear to Cami's ward.
Sunday night the Mabeys invited us for dinner. We had fun sharing old boating stories with Scott, Laura and the kids. Dinner was excellent as only Scott can do it!!! Cami (always the entertainer) played and sang for Camille and Jeff.
Since we were in Sandy, we drove past our old house, Parklane Elementary School and the church. Cami didn't have any interest since she hadn't been born yet, but we knew the other kids would like to see the old house on Thistlewood Way. Doesn't look quite the same!
After visiting with Terry on Monday Marc took me to Westminster College where we walked around campus to see the changes to the College since Marc got his BA there.
Monday night we met Mynon, Scott & Laura Mabey and Mike & Rhonda Callister at the Mandarin in Bountiful for dinner. It was like a 5 yr. reunion. We were missing Terry & Seletha Deru and Bryan Daybell, but we still had lots to catch up on.
Marc and I walked around downtown after his meeting on Tues. There was work being done on the Tabernacle so things were roped off, but we enjoyed the sweet spirit of being on Temple Square. We saw the movie about Joseph Smith and were moved to tears it was so beautifully done.
Salt Lake Temple. So Beautiful and majestic.
Here is a picture of the Conference Center from the 26th floor of the Church Office Building. You don't realize how large it is until you see all of it from this height.
Mandy, Leslie, Cami, Billy and Ricki out to dinner with us Tues. night.

Wednesday before we left to drive home Deann(right) her mom and I took Katie to the MTC where we went thru orientation for a half hour with her. Watching Katie and all the young men and women singing Called to Serve reminded me of how Amy and Dave must have felt on their first day at the MTC. Katie is going to the Houston, TX. area to serve her mission.
