Temple Square

Sunday afternoon our good friends
Scott, Laura and Camille took us to
Temple Square. Cami and Mike were
too tired to go up to Salt Lake with us.
Maybe because it was like 100 degrees
outside, they were the smart ones. It felt
like a furnace was blowing on us every time
we walked outside. Yeah, going to
Temple Square is a typical touristy thing
to do, but we really wanted to go.
The grounds are so beautiful with
so many different flowers growing, and
it was nice to visit the visitor's centers,
the Tabernacle (especially since it was
redone inside) and the church museum.
The Temple is always so majestic and
beautiful. We were so glad we went.
Afterward, Scott made dinner for us
and the Bready's, too. Yummmmmm!

Camille, Laura and I enjoyed seeing
all the flowers in bloom.

Some different views of the Temple.

In the visitor's center (where it was
nice and cool)!!!

Adam and Eve

Amazing carving displayed in the museum,
of the sun on the Temple. It took hours
and special care to carve this!

Amazing quilt made to represent the
3 glories of heaven. Look closely
at the quilt and you can see people
in each glory with Christ at the top.
Very creative!!

In the museum they had a display
about the building of the Tabernacle.
No nails, just pegs to hold it together.
Very interesting!

A pic of the Tabernacle being built.

These are the death masks of Joseph
and Hyrum. I didn't know in those days
they made death masks on the dead so
their family and friends could remember
what they looked like at the age they died.

We were kind of sad to leave our
friends Monday morning, but we
were also ready to return home
to our cooler haven at the lake!!!
Thanks for a wonderful time Mabeys
and Breadys!
