It is February 6th, 2009 here at
Owasco Lake with a high of 16 degrees.
We had a low of 2.2 the other day. Burrrr!
It has been almost too cold to snow.
We get a few flurries here and there.
Enough to keep the fields and trails
covered so we can snowmobile just about
anywhere right here from the house. We
went about 120 miles last Saturday with
Marc and I on our sleds, my brother Joe,
friend Ted, and my cousin Charley who all
trailered their sleds up from near the border
of PA to go with us. It was beautiful, sunny
and a fun ride. Started at 10am home at 5pm.
Super Bowl Sunday it got up to 48 degrees
and melted the snow off our ice capped
road. We had to scrape it with the
york rake to make ridges in the
ice so we wouldn't slide all the way
down to our house! Now that can get
a little scary, but we haven't had any
trouble so far.

There have been snowmobiles running
up the lake near our beach leaving tell
tale tracks gleaming in the sun, ice
fishermen out in the middle with tents
scattered here and there and
a couple of people walking by on snow
shoes . Lots of activity.
This is a snow storm coming across from the west side of the lake.

These are the snow shoers. And some pics of a beautiful sunset the other night.

It started like this and then........

This! Breathtaking to see all the color
in the sky and reflecting on the lake!
