According to my wife, the weather woman, this woolly caterpillar is the predictor of the winter to come. According to lore it looks like a shorter fall due to the shorten black area on the left side or front of the caterpillar. The long brown middle section indicates a very long winter and the small amount of black on the tail indicates a very short spring. There you go, I just saved you a trip to the Farmer's Almanac and countless hours watching the weather channel.
Coming to Owasco Lake from the south this is the first view you will get of the lake. When we would drive up from Doylestown or Goshen it was at this point that Kathy would wake up everyone of the kids so they could see the lake. The kid's never got as excited as she did, perhaps it was because it was the same scenario as every other Friday night for as long as they could remember.
Fall is a beautiful time at the lake, you can smell the leaves as you walk along the beach, the mornings are brisk, it is quiet and romantic, well it used to be romantic. These next pictures are my best attempt to lure my Sug back home from San Diego.

So Ash are you really going to have baby Dallas or was this just a trick to get Mom back out to visit?
