4th of July Weekend, Saturday Night.
The whole family came for volleyball
and dinner. It was wonderful to get the
little second cousins together.

The highlight of the night was this hotdog eating
contest. Each contestant had to put 5$ in to enter
and whoever won got the pot. It started out with
5 players, but Julia decided to join in (she doesn't
eat pork) to show that a girl could do it! John,
Rob, Jason, Miles, Young Joe Bennett and Julia were to
eat 5 hotdogs in 5 minutes or less. The 5th hotdog had
to be swallowed before the winner could be announced!

Joe, to the left of Julia downed his 5 hotdogs in
less than 4 minutes eating two dogs at a time and
then wetting the buns with water and slurping them
down. Rob came in 2nd, John 3rd, Jason gave up
after Joe won and Joe came over and ate 2 of his
dogs, Julia gave up after 3 dogs looking a little
green around the gills and Miles took
15 minutes to finish, but ate all 5 hotdogs and buns
to prove he wasn't a quiter! It was great entertainment
for after dinner! John said they were the worst
hotdogs he had ever eaten! (I think they were the
cheapest ones the boys could find down at the Modern
Market!) Ha! Joe walked away with 30$ easily!

You got to love this family! We never got bored
with all the shananagins that go on around here
