Today as we walked on our beach we were amazed at these shelves of ice hanging in our inlet. The water is very low for this time of year and the ice formations unusual.
Yesterday we noticed that some ice had formed on the lake overnight. The wind came up from the south and pushed the ice up the lake and on the beach. If you enlarge this pic you will see the sheets of ice like broken glass all piled up. I never knew ice could take on so many different shapes. Some years it is 4 inch long crystals that pile up on the beach and you can actually hear it tingle as the wind pushes it thru the water.
