Brussels, Belgium - The first day of my business trip allowed for some time zone adjustment and a chance to see a few sites in Brussels. This is my hotel in an area called Grand Place.

This Gallery housed a number art shops and was beautiful as these next pictures show.

I saw this cathedral and wanted to see inside. It was huge and very pretty.

In an open area next to the hotel was a number of vendors selling various crafts. You can see my hotel in the background.

Not far from the hotel while I was out exploring I found this large square with a number of beautiful buildings. If you enlarge this picture you might wonder about the gesture of the man on the horse. In the following picture you'll see it is a baton or document.

This is another side of the square.

These two pictures show the amazing decorative work that was done on these buildings.

Another street nearby.

Another side of the square.

You can't come to Belgium and not get a waffle. They are delicious!!

I was surprised by a mother's with young children out begging. Here are a few checking the contents of the dumpster which I caught from my hotel window.

Pics are beautiful. Wow, those buildings are so different than in the US. Wish I was there with you!

Marc, when you blog you have to take the space out of the bottom before you publish. Please!

Wow. We certainly aren't eating our Waffles the right way. When everyone comes this summer we will have to have a waffle feast! What do you think, girls?
