We took a ride down memory lane on Monday with everyone riding together in Hank's Mom's wonderful big SUV. We went to Marc's Grandparent's home where we lived when Marc went to college his first year at El Centro. The trees behind the house are Pecan trees. We shucked and froze lots and lots of Pecans that were made into Pecan pies. The house has been made into an office for an oil company. They filled in the space between the Fleming home and the neighbor on the right side (Ruby Jean's house) with a whole other building so it is all one building now and painted it gray. We have many fond memories of this old house and living here with Gran and Jete. They sure loved Nicole!

We took a ride over to Lontos Street and tried to find the duplex Marc's family and the Brunken family had lived in until the two families built houses side by side on Walling Lane.
The Duplex.......we found the right one later in the week after sharing dinner with the Brunkens and getting the correct street address! This is where the Clay's lived when Marc was born.
The house on Walling Lane.
This metal container was supposed to be used to hold the garbage can, but Marc found a better use for it as a little boy. He would hide in it and pop out when his dad got home from work!

This is Marc's middle school he went to in 8th grade while living with his grandparents.
And this would have been his High School if he hadn't been in Penna. in High School. Instead...I went to Hillcrest High School when we lived with Gran and Jete while Marc was going to college. Thank goodness I graduated a year early!

We ate lunch at Casita Dominquez where Marc worked as a busboy when he was in 8th grade. Dr. Bob Brunken recommended him to the owners and he got the job. Marc said that when he would eat lunch or dinner on break the other busboys would spike his food with hot sauces or peppers and that is where he learned how to eat such hot spicy foods!

It sure was fun sharing with the kids where Marc was born and lived when he was a young boy. And then Gran and Jete's where the door was always open to come live with them. Our three years in TX gave us a great opportunity to get to know and love Marc's extended family.

Mom thanks for SO many blogs. I love/hate seeing everyone together. Just kidding I love it. But not the ones of ashley and cami together. That was too much. The mustache/unibrow pictures are HILARIOUS. And all those babies are so incredibly cute! And all the pictures of Dallas made me happy that you guys went there even if I wanted you to come here.
