Waiting for Spring.
Yesteday while the sun was shining, Marc and I took a walk along our beach and over to the point you can see behind me. The Ice has been pushed up at an angle all along the shoreline and there are huge cracks that run across the lake. Looks kind of neat!

This picture is looking towards our inlet to the North. I have seen the ice piled up as ice crystals, but not pushed up like this. Won't last long with 50 degree weather coming.

Silly Marc tried to get me to walk out on the ice with him. There are pools of open water not too far from shore and the ice is becoming transparent, so....I told him I would take a pic as he went thru and then laugh as he walked out of that freezing cold water! After going thru the ice with the snowmobiles a couple of years ago, I'm just a little bit ice shy.

Marc and Shadow...ice explorers! Ha! Such a funny man. Always keeps me guessing what he'll do next! Got to love him!!!

Yesterday this pitch in the ice was holding up the boulder you can see in the water now beneath it. Amazing how strong ice can be and destructive at times, too.
We are waiting patiently for warmer weather!!! Maybe Saturday. Then the cleanup begins. Hauling logs, burning branches, driftwood and leaves, raking, picking up all the pinecones off the driveway. We wouldn't want to live anywhere else, but it is a whole lot of work to get this place ready for summer. Where are those kids of ours when we need them?
