Rude awakening!

Gobble, gobble, who is that?

This morning we woke up to scratching on the roof. We walked out into the main room and looked up to see bird's feet on the sky lights. We could see a couple of birds on the other skylight pecking at the side of the window and on the roof. Does the movie, 'The Birds" come to mind?!!! I went outside to look and there must have been 35 of these huge birds on the roof and many in the trees surrounding the house. Sometimes turkeys nest in our trees at night, but pecking on the roof?? So we googled turkeys, turkey hawks and turkey vultures. Turns out they are Turkey Vultures!! CREEPY!! They wanted Shad but he was still in his cage! Maybe next time!
